Central Asia Observation

Central Asia Observation is a scholarly publication dedicated to Central Asian studies, featuring original research on political, economic, and social affairs, including their subfields and interlinkages, as well as development discourses and practicalities within the Central Asian context.

The journal combines invited contributions with editorially curated content and operates on a flexible publication schedule, with issues released as topics mature and meet the standards of academic merit, ensuring depth and quality in every issue. Published content falls into two categories: research articles, which undergo double-blind peer review; and non-research contributions — such as commentaries, policy briefs, and technical documents — which are reviewed and approved by the Editorial Board.

The definition of Central Asia adopted by this journal aligns with the UNESCO framework, encompassing Afghanistan, northeastern Iran, Pakistan, northern India, western China, Mongolia, and the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
